This is my first tutorial in New Communication Technologies and the thought of posting a new blog entry every week is a little daunting. How will I know what to say and what the subsequent reactions of the readers will be? (The thought of saying my readers seems a little self indulgent). I suppose that is something I ought to get used to, with my aspirations of being a journalist and all. However, I had hoped to be a little better trained in my writing before having to face such a dilemma, and hopefully have something a little more interesting to say. On top of having to pull thoughts out of my murky brain that seem suitable enough for a university blog, I have to learn how to accomplish this seemingly impossible task on a Mac (my first ever encounter with this species of computer). It tries to trick you with its anatomical structure so similar to that of the PC, but don't let it fool you; it is an alien breed, designed to trick me into thinking I am safe and perhaps I will not fail spectacularly in this course. I suppose I am expected to say something that relates directly to today's tutorial but there isn't a lot to report on besides the realisation of my computer illiteracy and how this Mac keyboard has made my fingers feel like they have inflated to twice their normal size. And now they tell me that everyone will be reading this. Well, happy reading everyone.
